Tec check
With Season 5 of Cold War now live across all platforms, one of the brand new weapons on offer is the Tec-9 Submachine Gun.
The Tec-9 is a usually a semi-auto SMG with a high damage output and great accuracy. While it may have moderate range, it's got great mobility.
While it may seem like a lackluster choice, given the semi-automatic nature, once you unlock the correct attachments it turns into a full-auto machine.
With so many strong weapons in Cold War's multiplayer, what attachments and loadout should you use on this weapon?
Here's our recommended loadout for the Tec-9 and the best attachments.
Best Attachments
For the EM2, we need to focus on improving the areas its weakest - that's its small magazine size and semi-automatic fire rate.
In general, this weapon is pretty solid, once you get the attachments for it, even if it can be a grind! Even once you unlock the burst fire barrel, it starts to redeem itself.
Here are the best attachments for the Tec-9:
- Full Auto Repeater (Muzzle)
- 8.1" Task Force (Barrel)
- Field Agent Grip (Underbarrel)
- STANAG 39 RND (Magazine)
- Speed Tape (Handle)
While you may lose some accuracy with this setup, it needs all the help it can get to compete with a strong SMG category.
The Muzzle is going to turn this weapon into a full-auto weapon, even at the expense of some damage range. This can be compensated for with our choice of Barrel, increasing damage, damage range and bullet velocity. You will, notably, lose some accuracy. But, we compensate for this reduction with the Field Agent Grip. This weapon is so mobile, you won't be bothered by the loss of shooting movement speed. The 39 round is a must in my eyes as this SMG and the slower ADS time can be made up for by using the Speed Tape.
I wouldn't use this weapon to sprint around running and gunning, but it has fantastic mobility when ADS. So you really want to use this with your sights up when turning corners and stick to close to mid-range engagements.
Best Class
Secondary
Given the solid secondary choices available in Cold War and the fact this weapon is decent as it is, you probably won't need to use Lawbreaker.
But, to be safe, I would recommend using a Primary for your secondary - I'd use a sniper like the ZRG 20mm that you won't need to worry about running around with. But any preferred sniper will do!
I'd recommend the following attachments:
- Wrapped Suppressor (Muzzle)
- 29.3" Rapid Fire (Barrel)
- Bipod (Underbarrel)
- STANAG 7 RND (Magazine)
- Serpent Wrap (Handle)
Lethal And Tactical
I always believe this comes down to personal preference. But I would opt for a Smoke Grenade and C4.
Your Smoke Grenade is a useful tool to make a quick getaway and obstruct your enemy's view. Most people use Tactical Mask, which means you won't get much use our of a stun or flash.
The C4 is a great immediate explosive that will do a lot of damage in a big area if players advance on you when you're not ready.
Field Upgrade
Gas Mine is a nice alternative to the Field Mic to watch your back.
Perks
Flak Jacket is probably the better option over Tactical Mask as very few people use Tactical grenades like the Flash or Stun.
Assassin will help you reach your Scorestreaks faster.
Ghost is the best Perk 3 option, especially if you're playing slower.
