We’re well underway into the 15th season of League of Legends, and all this said, it doesn’t appear Riot is going to stop anytime soon with the patches.
One topic that has been hot in the community as of late has been the reveal and upcoming release of the WASD movement.
Here's when it'll be released in LoL.
League of Legends: When Is WASD Movement Coming? Answered
League is always evolving, and this has been especially relevant over the course of 2025, as there's been some significant changes. Various champion reworks, and an entire new seasonal formula have been the main highlights.
However, WASD movement is something that has been talked about in the community for quite some time, and Riot recently posted a developer's blog talking about the upcoming addition of the mechanic.
Regarding a release date, all we know is that it'll be released onto the PBE soon, meaning within the next couple of weeks.
Riot has noted the following on WASD.
-
To that end, we’re adding WASD as a new, optional control scheme to League.
-
WASD is coming to PBE in a few patches and we need your help to find every bug or weird interaction that exists.
-
It’ll stay on PBE until it’s ready to roll out to non-Ranked queues and eventually to Ranked.
-
WASD is totally optional, and we have some balance levers to pull so WASD and Point & Click are both competitively viable without either being a “better” way to play League.
In the meantime, be sure to prepare for any future release by checking out the Stealth 700 headset.
