Hollow Knight Silksong is without a doubt one of the most anticipated games in the 2020s, and Team Cherry is finally ready to showcase the game to players.
With a brand new main character, there is some speculation into who exactly we're going to be playing as in Silksong.

Team Cherry has been steadily developing the game over the course of seven years, as it was first showcased to fans back in 2019.
At a surface level, we know we'll be playing as Hornet, who, yes, is the main character of Hollow Knight: Silksong. However, who exactly is this mysterious character that we had numerous encounters with in the first game?
Be warned, as there are spoilers ahead for those who haven't discovered Hornet's origin.
Hornet is the daughter of the Pale King and Herrah the Beast, who is one of the three 'Dreamers' that players must discover during the original Hollow Knight. According to some lore videos, such as the one below, Herrah had one final request before being put into an eternal dream state by the Pale King, and it was to bear a child, which ultimately resulted in the birth of Hornet.
While Hornet is similar to all of the other vessels that come from The Abyss; she was raised in Deepnest, and is quite the fighter.
