College Football 25 has been one of the most anticipated EA games to release in quite some time, and football fans from all around the world are rejoining at the fact that this beloved series is back.
EA have seemly delivered the true College experience in numerous aspects, and it's a game a decade in the making, and we're excited to say, that it has been worth the wait.
Here's our review of EA Sports College Football 25.
College Football 25 Review: A Triumphant Comeback For An Iconic Series
It's been safe to say that over the years, the hope was dwindling amongst fans that we'd ever see the return of a College Football game. This was more or less due to the struggle between the NCAA and paying their athletes, which has since transpired to the NIL program. College Football 25 offers all 134 FBS schools, with all of the various conferences, even the two team Pac-12.
With the game also offering the full rosters for each team, there are some familiar names on the rosters, ones that avid College Football fans all know and love watching. This contributes to the overall immersion present within the game, and this combined alongside the atmosphere given when loading into a match, and playing in some of the toughest stadiums.
The presentation level throughout the entire game, from the menus in Dynasty mode, to the home screen featuring your favorite team are all aspects that fans have highly praised in the early days of the game life cycle. Without a doubt this is one of the greatest aspects of College Football 25, and it truly captivates what it's like to watch College Gameday every Saturday throughout the Fall.
Dynasty - From Zero To Hero
Perhaps the game mode that players will be attracted to the most is Dynasty; which pits you with taking control of a school, and through recruiting and other variables, lead them to a National Championship.
This can be a daunting task, especially if you're starting with some of the lesser known schools, ones that don't have the big budgets for recruiting such as Georgia and Alabama. While there has been some complaints in regards to how easy the recruiting process can be from time to time, this is not seen as a negative to the majority of players. More or less due to the fact that if it was hype-realistic, then there would be avenue for schools such as Sam Houston to climb the ranks of the FBS ladder in a few short years.
Parts of Dynasty mode such as the weekly objectives, and choosing the right upgrades for your coach are going to be helpful for progressing throughout the mode. On the flipside, we'd like for there to be more micro-decisions if we opted into it; such as planning where booster money is allocated into the program and what not. However, surface level, the mode is fantastic, and it's surely addicting, especially the process and end result that can be earned with certain schools.
Gameplay - An Improvement From Madden
The final aspect we're going to touch on is the actual gameplay of College Football 25, and for many, this is going to be a highlight, and for others, it's a step backwards.
Gone are the X-Factors that we've been accustomed, and now there's some simple abilities that are flow nicely within the game. One portion of the gameplay that has been universally agreed upon is the struggle it has been on the defensive side of the ball. This is similar to how actual College Football operates, as we see little to no defense, especially in mid-major conferences.
Closing Thoughts
EA Sports College Football 25 is a victorious return for the series, and one that fans have been waiting for since 2014. We're impressed with the additions the team has made, and overall gameplay experience has been a breeze thus far.
