CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS COLD WAR: SEASON 2 BRINGS THE HURT WITH 6 NEW WEAPONS
March 2, 2021
The big Season 2 refresh for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has arrived. Operators have another massive amount of content to sift through for all multiplayer modes, breathing new life into the online action. Of course, players have been most excited to see what weapons they can get their hands on, and Activision definitely delivered. Season 2 includes 6 new weapons to try, with 3 available right now, and 3 more coming later in the Season. With quite the variety in weapon types added, Season 2 makes staying alive on the battlefield that much easier!
Fans of assault rifles will be happy to know that the FARA 83 AR is the first new weapon up for grabs, as it’s free to unlock through the Battle Pass at Tier 15. This baby packs some serious punch, especially if you like doing damage from a distance. The FARA 83 spits out bullets at an impressive rate, but all that power comes with some considerable kickback. Of course, you can negate a bit of this with the right attachments. If you put in the time with this bad boy, you’re going to become nearly unstoppable in a firefight.
Moving up to Tier 31 on the Battle Pass nets you the LC10 SMG. While most submachine guns are meant for close to mid-range gunplay, the LC10 does a great job at reaching targets a bit further out. The accuracy on this beast is a sight to behold, which makes it a serious threat when coupled with its 34-round magazines. Just keep firing away on your enemies while easily maintaining a bead, thanks to the gun’s considerable handling. It’ll take a few rounds to drop your foes, but as long as you stay on them, the LC10 will get the job done.
Finally, for those who like to get up-close-and-personal with their combat, the new Machete is a must-have. Melee weapons might not be your go-to for a fight, but they can seal the deal when things get hairy in close quarters. The Machete is an absolutely nasty way to bring a scuffle to an end, and the quickness with which you can swing will ensure your adversary never sees it coming. In order to unlock this serious piece of steel, you’ll have to earn a Back Stabber medal in 15 different matches. You’ll have to do a lot of hacking and slashing with a standard knife to get that medal, but going through the trouble is definitely worth it to add the Machete to your loadout.

The best-selling wireless headsets just got even better; the Stealth™ 600 & 700 Gen 2 feature massive upgrades to ensure that Turtle Beach gamers always have the definitive audio advantage.
The FARA 83, LC10, and Machete are available right now, but three more weapons are coming later in the Season. We don’t have specific dates on the next trio of armaments, but they’re ones you’ll definitely want to keep an eye out for.
Assault Rifles and SMGs can be a blast, but what about something a little different? Why not channel your inner Walking Dead fan with the R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow? If you want to ensure your target never hears you coming, the R1 Shadowhunter is the way to go. It’s pretty much silent, and allows for varied firing distances depending on the Optics you use. Hide in the shadows, let the enemy slip by, and fire off a bolt from the cover of darkness to get one step closer to victory.
Continuing on with the stealth theme is the ZRG 20mm Sniper Rifle. This is for the operator who wants to cause some trouble from extremely far away. There’s no chance your opponents will know you’re tracking them, as the ZRG 20mm lets you hunker down from insane distances. All it takes is one headshot to completely eliminate your target. With a steady hand and a bit of patience, you could become the biggest threat across the entire map. The ZRG 20mm even has a seriously quick reload time, but remember, this is a bolt-action sniper rifle. Make those shots count, because if someone tracks you down, you’ll need a sub-weapon on hand to make it out alive.
Weapons like the R1 Shadowhunter and ZRG 20mm are refined, elegant means to an end, but sometimes you want a weapon that’s a bit more to the point. Why worry about firing rates and power per shot when you can go with brute force? The E-Tool isn’t pretty, but it’ll no doubt stop your enemy in their tracks. While the E-Tool’s main purpose is as a tri-fold shovel, in the Call of Duty universe, it can also be used as a blunt-force weapon. If another operator gets up in your face and won’t back down, whip out the E-Tool and crack them on the back of the skull to send them a message!
